We had the opportunity to meet several French associated partners and discuss with them about adult education, preservation and promotion of heritage and strategie for community involvement and active citizenship. We had meetings with Maisons Pour Tous (Maisons for All) in Champigny, palces of social life, discovery, where family and intergenerational bonds are forged, the two Maisons pour tous (MPT) offer local reception, social services, and leisure activities to the people of Champigny. Meeting and workshop at TRANSFO, socio-cultural relity managed by Emmaüs Solidarité. We had workshops and meeting at Atelier des Artistes en Exil.
On the 23rd February we had a particular visit of the exhibition ‘Migrations, a human odyssey’ at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris.
We had a full immersion in the reality of Les Frigos in Paris, with visits presentation and art phography workshop. How has migration evolved? What has changed since the last century? What are the main patterns today? How many people live outside their country of birth? How can we understand the often complex data? A dynamic exhibition design and a host of interactive features introduced ud to some of the concepts associated with this subject. The testimonies of people who have migrated reveal a broad range of profiles, causes and trajectories. Through objects steeped in personal history and works of art, most of them created by migrant artists, we discovered a range of unique perspectives on this particular life experience.
Movement is an integral part of our heritage as a human species, and the exhibition took us back in time to discover prehistoric migration and gene flow.
The Atelier des Artistes en Exil (aa-e) aims to identify artists in exile of all origins and disciplines, to support them according to their situation and needs, to offer them workspaces and to connect them with professional networks (French and European), in order to provide them with the means to test their practice and restructure themselves. The Atelier des Artistes en Exil responds to programming requests and develops its own events, including the “Party en exil” and the multidisciplinary festival, Visions d’exil, in co-construction with partner venues.
